Sam Abdelmalek was appointed Carpenter Technology’s Vice President and Group President – Performance Engineered Products (PEP), in August 2019.
Sam is responsible for managing the PEP portfolio of businesses, consisting of Amega West Services, Carpenter Additive, Carpenter Powder Products (CPP), Dynamet Inc. and Latrobe Specialty Metals Distribution. He is also responsible for leading related services within PEP including the manufacture of titanium alloys and metal powders, complex components for directional drilling equipment, and distribution of a variety of metallic alloys. Sam is responsible for PEP strategy planning and execution, ensuring operational performance and commercial excellence, driving business development and reinforcing a safety-focused and results-oriented culture.
Sam brings 30 years of engineering, supply chain, manufacturing and operations leadership experience. Prior to joining Carpenter Technology, he served as Chief Transformation and Supply Chain Officer at Bombardier, and as Vice President, Global Supply Chain at Pratt & Whitney. He also held senior leadership roles at United Technologies Corporation (UTC) and its divisions, and held positions of increasing responsibility at Bell Helicopter and Turbocor Inc.
Sam holds a Master of Business Administration from Concordia University and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Montreal, École Polytechnique.
